Quick Update

I just wanted to give a quick update on were things are at with my prepping to move to London. I promise in the future I will attempt to keep up a more legit blog and post pictures when I can.

Praises:

  • I got a great deal on my plain ticket and am officially leaving the country on March 25th!
  • God has been doing so many little blessings along the way, that are so underserved, that keep assuring me that I'm walking in the path He has for me.
  • I've been able to have some sweet times with friends, though sometimes brief.
Prayer Requests:
  • Time to be able, in the midst of all the craziness of getting stuff done, to just stop and soak it all in. To be able to enjoy sweet fellowship with those I love and enjoy this amazing area that I've lived for the last 8.5 years. (I only have a total of 9 days total that I will be on the central coast)
  • In the next couple of weeks I will be traveling a lot to spend time with friends and family
  • All the details that I still need to take care of, from paperwork to selling some remaining stuff including my car.
  • For all my support raising funds to come in (Shepherd's Staff wants you to have around 70% of your monthly support committed before you leave the country. Trusting the Lord's provision and timing. I've seen the Lord provide time and time again in the coolest ways for all the missions work I've done in the past. So I know He'll continue to do so, even though He tends to do it in a way that stretches my faith. In a way that keeps me relying on Him alone.)
  • Time with the Lord and just sitting in His presence.
  • I only have 2 days left at my job and a ridiculous amount of stuff that needs to happen
  • For putting together an online auction to sell all my artwork. This is a little bitter sweet as each work of art, from a painting, to a sculpture, to a photograph contain a piece of me. A piece of my life my heart powered into it. They tell a bit of who I am, a bit of the story of my life. A testimony to what the Lord's done and where He has brought me.
  • That the Lord will be preparing my heart for the ministry He has in store
  • Pray for the people of London and the ministry there
Thank you all so much for your prayers, you have no idea how much they mean to me!

I look at Camden Town

Here are some photos I took of the Camden area when I was there a couple of years ago. Hope this gives you a visual for where I'll be serving in London. Camden is the main area of focus of the ministry I will be joining. Though Bible studies and ministry do happen in other areas of the city as well. The first Bible study that the ministry began was in a coffee shop in Camden called Yumcha.

Camden is known for it's market place that is a maze of tons of different shops. A lot of evangelism goes on in and around the market. Camden is also known for it's cult and drug scene. Please be in prayer for this area and the ministry there.

Here is also another video that a friend already on the team in London made last summer.

Quick Update

I have been so blessed by all the amazing things the Lord has been doing during my preparations to move to London. I've been overwhelmed and exhausted at times but then God does something really cool that is just a confirmation that I'm walking in His will. Like walking into a thrift store to just quickly look to see if by chance they had any large duffle bag suitcases so that once I'm in London I can condense my suitcases down. And then right there when I walk in are 2 brand new suitcases still with the tags on them, exactly like I wanted and only $9/each. Or having a friend and her family offer for me to live at their house for the next month and a half to save rent. Or sending in all my paperwork for my visa last Tues. then getting it back in the mail today, less than a week later (it can take up to 6 weeks sometime). There are a million other cool little things the Lord has done that are just extra little blessings that are so underserved.

All the logistics of everything keep falling into place. Such as I now have my Shepherd's Staff account all set up (see more info under the 'Giving Financially' tab at the top). It may not all happen according to my timelines that I aimed for but they are all happening in the Lord's perfect timing. Whenever, I start to worry about something not getting done fast enough the Lord keeps just giving me a peace that He is in control and I can't mess up or change His timeline. He knows more than I do what needs to happen and how He will provide all my needs.

I will try my best to make sure that I am giving regular updates on my blog and share what the Lord is doing. I do apologize in advance though, I've never done a blog before and it may take me a bit to get the hang of frequently writing posts. Please email me at naomielissa84@gmail.com if you want to receive my monthly prayer updates or feel free to just email me if you have any questions. Any random notes of encouragement as well as updates or prayer requests of your lives would be greatly welcomed as well.
